At the meeting, the Vice President of Pondera Group expressed his desire to survey and learn about the potentials and strengths of Quang Binh province to open up investment cooperation opportunities in the field of renewable energy, especially inshore wind power, offshore wind power; at the same time, introduce some typical wind power projects implemented in the Netherlands and European countries. The Vice Chairman of the group also analyzed the advantages and preliminary assessment of the potential of nearshore wind power and offshore wind power in Quang Binh.

On behalf of provincial leaders, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council gave an overview of the province’s socioeconomic potential, cooperation and investment, with emphasis on the orientation plan of investment projects in renewable energy and wind power development in the province. Accordingly, there has been a wind power project invested completely and operated for commercial power generation. The province is allowing investors to conduct the survey, research; and propose 25 wind power projects for the National Power Development Plan in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII), including 06 offshore wind power projects with a total capacity of 4,109.2 MW; 16 projects on land with a capacity of over 2,000 MW.

He also said that wind power development is one of the orientations prioritized by the Government of Vietnam, especially offshore wind power. For Quang Binh province, electricity from renewable energy and clean energy is an important direction. The province will always create favorable conditions for investors to conduct surveys, research, and supplement planning. After the Power Plan VIII is approved by the Prime Minister, the province will consider and create favorable conditions for investors, including Pondera Group to open up opportunities for cooperation and investment in projects in the province.
