Infrastructures

A convenient traffic and transportation system of Quang Binh makes a great contribution to economic development of the country. A system of transportation by road, waterway and air assures an uninterrupted connection between Quang Binh and other provinces in the country.

Dong Hoi Airport was upgraded into a domestic airport to link the central regional with important political and economic centres throughout the country. Hon La Seaport has an area of 4 km2 where ships with loading capacity of 3 to 5 ten thousand tons can go in and out and berth favorably. The North-South Railway Route, National Highway 1A, and Ho Chi Minh Highway passes through most of the the residential and potential areas. National Highway 12A, which connects Quang Binh with Laos, Northeast Thailand and Myanmar through Cha Lo international border gate is the shortest and most favourable route. Tan Ap Station is the coming Trans-Asian transit railway station.

Trade relations have been expanded on many sectors: tourism, commerce, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, minerals... In Mekong Subregion, Quang Binh belongs to East-West Economic Corridor and becomes a significant hub of cross-border trade, cooperation and development among regional countries, the East gateway of the whole region of the Central Laos, Northeast Thailand and Myanmar - a region with great potential and opportunities for development.

In the province now, systems of hospitals, schools, postal and telecommunication services have been built up to a standard, which satisfies not only the local population, but also foreign experts and the people coming from outside. An electricity network of 220KV and 110KV assures power supply to urban centres and industrial zones. A nationally standardized system of water supply and drainage covers up to the fence of projects and industrial zones.

As a land of traditional studiousness and homeland of celebrities, Quang Binh is proud of its workforce that includes both unskilled and skilled labor, satisfying domestic and foreign investors as well.
