French luxury cruise ship Le Lapérouse is a high-class one with luxurious and modern style. Its length, breadth, and height are 132 m, 18 m, and 23 m respectively. It has been put into use since 2018. Le Lapérouse belongs to the luxury segment serving only a maximum of 184 passengers per trip. The cruise ship departs from Indonesia, via Singapore to Vietnam. During the journey to visit and explore Vietnam this time, it carries nearly 100 international tourists from many countries around the world including USA, France, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Quang Binh is an attractive tourist destination with a coastline of more than 116 km. Currently, the Hon La International General Port project is being invested with a total investment of over 2,100 billion VND, including 04 berths. Stage 01 of the project is expected to complete by 2024, including 01 berth for ships that will be capable of receiving up to 50,000 DWT and 01 berth for ships that will be capable of receiving up to 100,000 DWT. As soon as the project is put into operation, Quang Binh will be able to welcome large-scale international ships to make cruise tourism become one of the prominent tourism products in the province. 

The event of welcoming the first luxury international cruise ship to Quang Binh after more than 02 years of being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic marks an important milestone for continuing diversification and improvement of tourism products that are commensurate with the potential and competitive advantages of resources. Most of the cruise tourists are highly affordable and they usually arrive between October and April of next year, coinciding with the low season for domestic tourists. Therefore, welcoming cruise trips will open a new direction for the cooperation and development of international maritime tourism.

Cruise trip Le Lapérouse will visit Quang Binh three times on October 11, October 15, and October 31. In Quang Binh, tourists will visit famous tourist attractions at Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (the World Natural Heritage site) such as Paradise Cave  (Asia's longest dry cave), Phong Nha cave, Nuoc Mooc stream, Chay river - Dark cave; historical sites in Dong Hoi city; Canh Duong mural village, etc.

It is known that during the voyage in Vietnam, the cruise ship Le Lapérouse will stop and take tourists to visit Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), Nha Rong Wharf (Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), etc.) Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Tien Sa (Da Nang), Chan May (Hue), Hon La (Quang Binh) and Ha Long (Quang Ninh).
