Wild hills and rocky mountains become attractive tourist area

Len Chua Ecostay locates in Xuan Trach commune (Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province), the buffer zone of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, more than 50km far from Dong Hoi City.

Before being explored, it was just a deserted area, overgrown with bushes. By chance, Mr. Dinh Xuan Hau, Director of Huyen Hau Trading and Service Co., Ltd. saw the tourism potential and built the beautiful Len Chua Ecostay today.

“This was ever a ’dead land’, wild hills and rocky mountains managed by the commune authorities. For a very long time, this area was mainly used as a place to dump scrap and construction waste. When I interpreted, realized the potential and had an idea for tourism, the commune leaders immediately supported it," Mr. Dinh Xuan Hau shared.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Hau has embarked on a tourism development project in the "dead land" area of more than 6,700 square meters and completed in the end of 2022.

Len Chua Ecostay has 9 bungalows with unique architecture, amenities and impressive restaurants, cafes, flower gardens, swimming pools.... It is built in a circular shape, surrounded above by a towering limestone mountain, in front is a large area of mudflats with a stream flowing through.

"Because it is a low-lying area, it is very difficult to create a site, especially must be natural and in accordance with the "taste" of eco-tourism", Mr. Hau confided.

A special feature of this tourist area, rare to find anywhere else, is a very beautiful cave inside. Initially, a staircase system is installed and eye-catching colored lights are arranged to serve visitors. The temperature in the cave is very mild, warm in winter, cool in summer. During the extremely hot summer, the inside of the cave is still cool, about 100C lower than outside.

Attractive destination

Mr. Dinh Xuan Hau said that accommodation services at Len Chua Ecostay are different from other localities. Visitors can check in the wine cellar or camp outdoors, grilling BBQ at night. Len Chua Ecostay also has accompanying services such as cycling, visiting people farming in the fields and the daily life of people in the surrounding villages.

He informed that although it has only been put into operation since the end of 2022, it is already known to many tourists. Len Chua Ecostay attracts 300-400 visitors/day, especially on holidays and Tet, about 2,000-3,000 visitors/day and at peak, more than 5,000 visitors/day to experience cuisine, sightseeing, check-in, and staying.

Opening all days of the year, visitors can enjoy strolling along the roads, taking pictures and looking out to majestic mountains and forests, to immerse themselves in heart-wrenchingly beautiful nature. All services here are provided by cheerful and dedicated local staff.

The dishes here are an unforgettable highlight for visitors because of the freshness of the input ingredients - local products and food sources provided by people in the area.

In the near future, this tourist site will have a display booth to introduce local OCOP products.
