Rare turtle handed over to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park
A man in the central province of Quang Binh has handed over a rare turtle to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park's Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Creature Development.
Pham Van Binh in Thanh Trach Commune in Bo Trach District recently saw the turtle when returning home from work.

The yellow-headed temple turtle weighs around 15 kilos.
He then reported the case to the local forest management board. The turtle was then handed over to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
The yellow-headed temple turtle is among endangered and rare species in need of preservation.
The park's Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Creature Development is home to dozens of rescued wild animals, including many rare species from Vietnam’s Red Book. The majority of them are handed over by local residents or seized from criminals in illegal trafficking cases.
