In cordial and friendly atmosphere, on behalf of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Quang Binh province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his pleasure to welcome the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to visit and work at the province. At the same time, he also congratulated the successful 11th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and election of the 9th National Assembly of Lao PDR.

At the meeting, he introduced briefly to Ambassador and members of the delegation about the socio-economic development situation; national defense - security of Quang Binh province in 2020 and the first months of 2021. Accordingly, in the context of many difficulties, Quang Binh has made many important achievements in the fields of economy, society, and national defense - security. The relationship between the two countries in general, Quang Binh and the provinces of Khammouane and Savanakhet in particular is increasingly tightened. Currently, Quang Binh has more than 300 Lao students studying at local training institutions, of which nearly 250 staff and students are supported by the province. Besides, the province also sent teachers to teach Vietnamese to help Khammouane province and sent officials to study Lao language in Champasak province. In the field of economic and trade, the import and export turnover of goods via Cha Lo International Border Gate in 2020 reached USD 1,213.6 million and in the first quarter of 2021 reached over USD 249 million. Quang Binh province has also invested in building National Highway 9B to Chut Mut area, towards the goal of opening a border gate in Chut Mut area (Quang Binh) - La Vin (Savanakhet) in the near future. In terms of national defense and security, the functional forces of Quang Binh province and the provinces Khammouane and Savanakhet have often cooperated closely in the task of protecting political security - social order and safety. In particular, the search and collection of the remains of voluntary martyrs and Vietnamese experts who died in Laos and returned to their home country were supported by the Party committees, authorities and people of the Lao tribes in Khammouane province achieved many good results.

In 2020, Quang Binh province provided medical equipment and materials for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control to Khammouane and Savanakhet provinces with a total value of VND 2 billion. In addition, the agencies, units and localities of each province also donated medical equipment and supplies to each other, shared experiences in Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control and closely cooperated and reviewed immigration at the border gate, contributing to control the epidemic in the border areas between the two countries. In particular, on the last traditional New Year of Tan Suu, the province has steered agencies and training institutions to organize a warm welcome for Lao cadres and students and had a special experience about Vietnamese traditional Tet culture.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also wished through the Ambassador, he would contribute to promoting the image of Quang Binh, especially its strength in tourism development, and at the same time trusting the cooperation relationship between Quang Binh province and the Embassy of Lao PDR in Hanoi, the Consulate General in Da Nang and the ties between Quang Binh and the provinces of Khammouane and Savanakhet have developed increasingly, bringing many practical effects.

In front of the warm welcome of Quang Binh provincial leaders, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR respectfully expressed his thanks and congratulation on the achievements of Quang Binh province in the past time. The Ambassador also highly appreciated the support and assistance of Quang Binh to the provinces of Laos in the past years in Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control; supporting the provinces of Laos in building infrastructure; especially the reception, training and retraining of Lao students and affirms that those will be qualified human resource, making an important contribution to the development and construction of Laos in the future. He also wished that in the coming time, Quang Binh will continue to support, cooperate, exchange and share experiences in all fields with the provinces of Laos, contributing to the development of the friendship and bond between Vietnam and Laos are forever green and sustainably.
