Speed up development of specific and attractive tourism products to lure tourists

 (Quang Binh Portal) - In the pasttime, with the well-timed directions of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee and the great efforts made by all levels, sectors, enterprises and people, the province"s tourism sector has gradually overcomed all difficulties; tourism activity has initially resumed and achieved a fair growth.

Total number of tourists to Quang Binh in the nine months of 2017 was estimated to reach 2.5 million, a 43% increase from the same period last year, including 60,000 foreigners, grew by 75%; revenue from overnight stays was estimated to reach VND89 billion, increased by 41.6%; revenue from food VND1,277 billion, up 15.9%; revenue from travel VND194 billion, up 24.1% from the same period last year.
Up to now, the province has 297 accommodations with about 5,100 rooms, 10,000 beds; 20 restaurants meeting the standards and 15 attractive destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

With the obtained results, in the past time, the tourism sector has actively implemented many comprehensive solutions to attract more tourists to the province. Tourism promotion activities have been invested and brought a high effectiveness such as a series of event "Quang Binh in the heart of Hanoi", "Quang Binh Cave Festival 2017" and other outstanding activities, contributing to restoring market of tourists in the North and luring more tourists from the Southern market and High Central provinces.

Besides, development of many products and types of tourism has made an important contribution to tourist attraction such as expansion of tourism destinations of Nuoc Mooc Spring, Zipline at Chay River - Dark Cave, Thien Duong Cave tourist site, etc and opening of new tourist routes, including Hamada valley - Tra Ang Cave, discovery of Thien Duong Cave - Heaven Well, Ruc Mon Cave - Yen Phu Lake, Chay Lap water sport area, etc, making tourists to have more choices.

In order to improve quality of services and develop Quang Binh to become a safe, friendly and hospitable destination, the tourism sector has focused on training and fostering human resources for tourism through training courses on professional skills for hotel and restaurant staffs, drivers and tourist guides, contributing to gradually specialize tourism staffs. Up to now, there are more than 4,000 direct laborers with a total laborers working in accommodation establishments of about 3,400 persons.

In addition, environmental sanitation has been paid attention at tourist sites, accommodation establishments and restaurants to make a good impression on tourists when coming to Quang Binh. The Department of Tourism has organized many promotional programmes, tourism stimulus and recreational activities to meet demands of tourists; ensured food safety and hygience, improved quality of services and stabilized prices, etc.

In order to continue attracting tourists to Quang Binh, in the upcoming time, the tourism sector will speed up development of new tourism products with many diversifed and abundant forms, meeting the different demands of tourists; have comprehensive solutions to lure potential investors to develop tourism potentials and invest in leisure activities and acommodation establishments in the province; improve urban infrastructures and environmental sanitation, especially at tourism destinations and large urban areas.

In addition, the tourism sector will strengthen destination surveys to link and develop tourism and special tourism products; develop sailing boat service with the routes of Nhat Le - Quan Hau and Quan Hau - Long Dai; coordinate with Oxalis and the Bristish Royal Cave Association to open a tour exploring Son Doong Cave with a new itinerary of four days and three nights across "the Great Wall of Vietnam"; develop some new tourist routes such as discovery of Dai A, Over, Pygmy Caves; exploring Van Kieu ethnic minority people - Khe Nuoc Lanh - Van Cong Cave; learning about culture of Arem and Ma Coong ethnic minority people and discovering Ruc Ca Roong Cave, etc.
