Rare documents on General Vo Nguyen Giap showcased

The Museum of Military Zone 2 on October 10th displayed some precious documents on General Vo Nguyen Giap with cadres, troops and people in Tay Bac, as a tribute to the General.

On display are 25 photos of General Vo Nguyen Giap in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and at the time when the General visited Military Zone 2 and Tay Bac people.

Among the showcased objects is a kerosene lamp which General Vo Nguyen Giap used while reading documents in the resistance war against French invaders in 1947 in Mon village, Tien Kien commune, Phong Chau district, Phu Tho province.

Apart from the exhibited documents, the museum sent 5 images of the General with Tay Bac troops and people to the Vietnam Military History Museum.

Colonel Le Quang Tuoc, the curator, said that the museum’s staff was stunned by the news of the General’s death. The museum’s documents and images of General Vo Nguyen Giap with cadres, troops and people in Tay Bac will help troops and people learn more about the General’s great contributions to the nation.
