Chairman of the provincial People's Committee speaks at the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee gave an overview of achievements in some specific cooperation activities between Quang Binh and Nakhon Phanom such as participating in sport competitions, dialogue between businesses and authorities on facilitating cross-border trade among the three provinces of Quang Binh - Khammouane- Nakhon Phanom, commercial transactions, trade fairs...
On this basis, in the coming time, he suggested two sides encourage and create favorable conditions for the government agencies and localities of two provinces to increase exchanges and learn experiences with practical contents in order to promote friendship cooperation; encourage and facilitate businesses of the two parties to enhance mutual interaction and investment cooperation; boost introduction, promote and create favorable conditions for Thailand tourists in general and Nakhon Phanom in particular to visit and resort in Quang Binh, especially the caravan model, "One day tastes three countries"; continue to coordinate and propose the Governments of Vietnam - Laos - Thailand to soon complete the procedures for adding the 8 and 12 roads to Protocol No. 01 of the Greater Mekong Subregion Cross Border Transport Facilitation Agreement (GMS-CBTA Agreement). In particular, the Chairman of the PPC suggested Nakhon Phanom province to coordinate and steer the functional forces to continue promoting the administrative reform in the border gate area, focusing on the effective implementation of National One-door mechanism, ASEAN Single Window with open and transparent procedures to facilitate maximum the activities of trade, import, export and immigration via the border gates.

At the meeting, the Governor of Nakhon Phanom province expressed his sincere thanks to the solemn welcome of Quang Binh leaders and hoped that the two provinces would continue to maintain and develop the mutually beneficial cooperation achieved in the past time. He also said that the 8 and 12 roads play an important role to the economic development for not only Nakhon Phanom and Quang Binh but also for many provinces of 03 countries Vietnam - Thailand - Laos. Therefore, provinces should continue conducting promotion activities with the Governments of the two countries so that they can reach an agreement soon.
