Phong Nha Cave
Phong Nha cave is the famous tourist attraction in the north-central Vietnam. Located about 50 km northwest of Dong Hoi town, Quang Binh province, Phong Nha is noted for its thousands of meters of underground passageways and river caves filled with numerous stalactites and stalagmites.
It has a total length of 7729 meters, contains 14 grottoes with a 13,969 m-long underground river. The cave bears the name of Phong Nha meaning Cave of Teeth since getting further to the cave, tourists will be absorbed in the miraculous beauty of stalactites falling down as myriad huge teeth.
Recognized as the World Heritage Site by Unesco in July, 2003, Phong Nha boasts seven unique aspects. The system has the longest water cave, highest and widest cave's entrance, largest and most beautiful stone and sand beaches, nicest underground lake, most significant and marvelous stalactites, longest subterranean river and the nicest and largest dry cave.
Regarded as one of two most beautiful caves in the world, Phong Nha cave is the major site of tourism attracting a great number of local and foreign tourists alike every year.
