Located in the strategic position on economic development corridors in the North Central of Vietnam, Quang Binh is the destination of safety, uniqueness and distinction. With the natural area of about 8,000 km2, 116km-long coastline, forest coverage of above 68% (ranked the 2nd nationwide), such natural conditions and geographical location have enabled Quang Binh province to have a favorable space to develop. 

Quang Binh has the synchronous traffic system including Dong Hoi airport, Hon La seaport, 1A National Road, the East and West branches of Ho Chi Minh Road, 12A National Road, North-South Railway and Dong Hoi Railway Station as the main railway station together with the North – South expressway under urgent construction, which is very convenient for travelling, commodity trade exchanges within the areas and regions nationwide. 

02 economic zones and 10 industrial parks within the province are located in favorable geographical position, adapting to competitive and cooperative environment, out of which Hon La economic zone and Cha Lo international border gate economic zone have been assessed to be the top potentials for developing industry, logistics, renewable energy, commercial services trading spreading thoughout the whole neighboring area.

Particularly, Quang Binh possesses Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, which has been twice recognized by UNESCO as the World Natural Heritage, named as “the kingdom of caves” with thousands of large and small caves, the most outstanding of which is Son Doong – the largest cave in the world. In addition, Quang Binh also possesses world class golf courses and many clean, beautiful beaches such as: Nhat Le, Bao Ninh, Da Nhay….with many delicious specialties to make the food culture more diversified. All of these features have contributed to create the serial activities of attractive, distinctive coastal sport and resort tourism. There is also Bang hot spring with natural boiling temperature at 1050C to be invested to become the Japanese Onsen – modelled ecological and rehabilitation tourism center that is suitable for rehabilitation and healing tourism. In addition, there are also many spiritual and cultural heritages, historic relics such as legendary Truong Son road, Eight Ladies Cave…   It can be affirmed that Quang Binh has possessed sufficient conditions to develop into a big tourism center of Vietnam and the Southeast Asia.

Quang Binh provincial master plan within the period of 2021 – 2030, vision by 2050 approved by the Prime Minister has clearly stated that the provincial socio-economic development orientation in the coming time is to fully exploit the provincial potentials and advantages, guarantee fast and sustainable economic growth rate; by the year 2030, it will be targeted to become the fairly developing province of the Central region and by the year 2050, it will become a dynamic economy of the Central region as well as the nation.
