Agriculture

The province’s summer-autumn rice area this year was estimated to reach 30,218 hectares, equaling 97.9% from the same period last year. Of which, rice area was 23,494.1 hectares, equaling 97.6%; the planted area of maize and other cereals was estimated at 684.1 hectares, equaling 98.3%.

The production of summer-autumn rice was estimated to gain 96,325.4 tons, equaling 96.2% from the same period last year. Of which, the rice production was estimated at 93,943 tons, equaling 96.2% from the same period last year. Estimated the rice production in 2015 gained 29.3 thousand tons, reahed 104.7% of the plan.

As of October 1st, the total flock of buffaloes was estimated at 35,370, went up by 1.3%; flock of oxen 90,856, went up by 1.8%; flock of pigs 362,490, rose 1.1%; flock of poultry 2,740, increased by 3.9% from the same period in 2014.

Estimated the output of live-weight meat for slaughter in nine months reached 44,726 tons, went up by 3.9% from the same period last year. Concretely, the output of live-weight buffalo meat reached 1,217 tons, rose 1.8%; output of live-weight beef was 4,486 tons, grew by 2.4%; output of live-weight pork 32,701 tons, rose 4.0%; poultry meat production 6,322 tons, went up by 4.8% from the similar period last year.

Forestry

In nine months, wood production was estimated to gain 111,780 m3, equaling 71.1% from the same period last year.

Fishery

Fishing production in nine months was estimated to reach 44,483 tons, increased by 8.1% over the identical period last year, of which production of aquaculture achieved 9,319 tons, increased by 6.5% (4,714 tons of fish, up 12.7%; 4,315 tons of shrimp, up 0.6%; other aquatic products 290 tons, up 5.8% from the same period last year).

Industry

Industrial Production Index (IPI) in nine months of 2015 rose 8.7% from the similar period last year (the plan rose 8.5%), of which the mining went down by 3.9%; the manufacturing went up by 9.7%; the power generation and supply rose 5.1%; the water supply and sewage treatment by rose 4.7%.

Industrial production value in nine months of 2015 was estimated to gain VND 7,056 billion, reached 74.6% of the plan and rose 9.7% from the same period last year. Of which, the State ecomony reached VND 508 billion, rose 8.1%, the non-State economy was VND 6,544 billion, increased by 9.8%; the FDI economy was VND 3.6 billion, rose 5.5%.

Some main products of the industrial sector in nine months of 2015 included building stone (reached 2,225 thousand m3, rose 3.6%), cassava (reach 8,032 tons, rose 6.8%), bottled beer (reached 14,463 thousand litters, rose 1.7%), refined bricks (reached 165,428 thousand, rose 8.7%), clinker (reached 2,009 thousand tons, rose 19.8%), cement (reached 1,180 thousand tons, rose 10.8%), trade electricity (reached 541 million Kwh, rose 5.0%), running water (reached 5,645 thousand m3, rose 5.3%).

Construction

Estimated realized social investment capital in nine months of 2015 at current prices reached VND 2,750.2 billion, went up by 16% over the identical period last year. Of which, the agro-forest and fishery was estimated to realize VND 232.5 billion, the health and social welfare activities were VND 238 billion, the security and national defence and State management were VND 168.4 billion. Estimated in nine months of the year, the province reimbursed 60% of estimate.

Service activities

Total retail sales of consumer goods and services: Total retail sales of consumer goods and services in nine months of the year was estimated to reach VND 11,488 billion, increased by 7.5% against the same period last year. Concretely, in nine months, collective economy reached VND 14.5 billion, rose 10.8%; individual economy reached VND 6,704 billion, rose 13.6%; private economy reached VND 4,019.8 billion, rose 8.5%; and State economy reached VND 749.7 billion, reduced by 30.2% from the same period last year.

Tourism: Estimated number of international visitors to Quang Binh in nine months reached 2,435.3 thousand arrivals, rose 4.6% from the same period last year, of which arrivals for travelling in nine months was estimated to reach 647.8 thousand tourists, increased by 7.7% from the same period last year. Revenues from hotels, restaurants and tourism was estimated to reach VND 1,507.6 billion, rose 20.3% from the same period last year.

Transport: Estimated total revenues in nine months of the year reached VND 1,800 billion, increased by 7.5% from the same period last year. Total passenger carriage in nine months reached 14.2 million passengers, rose 6.3% in the volume of passengers and reached 650,9 million hk.km, rose 7.4% in passengers-kilometers from the similar period last year. Cargo transport in nine months was estimated to reach 14.2 million tons, grow by 6.5% and reach 716.4 million tons.km, rose 7.5% over last year’s same period.

Exports

Generally, in nine months, estimated export turnovers reached US$78.1 billion, equaled 78.2% from the same period last year, reached 52% of the plan. Main products for export included rubber (24,488 tons, reached USD 45.52 million), diserve woods (20,021 m3, USD 24.51 million), colophony (1,195 tons, USD 0.55 million), aquatic products (265.4 tons, USD 1.9 million).

Imports

Generally, in nine months, estimated import turnovers to reach US$ 85.7 million, grew by 1.4% over the same period in 2014. All goods were directly imported from non-state economic sector, mainly production materials. Main import goods included wood, materials for new medicine production and others.

Budget revenues and expenditures

Budget revenues: Total estimated budget revenues in the province in nine months of the year were VND 1,940 billion, achieved 77.6% of the local estimate, increased by 17.08% from the same period last year.

Budget expenditures: Total budget expenditures in nine months of the year reached an estimate of VND 5,057 billion, equaled 74.6% of the local estimate.

Credit: Total capital mobilization from credit organizations from the beginning of the year to 30 September 2015 achieved VND 22,900 billion, increased by 12.5% from the early year and increased by 18.6% from the same period last year. Total outstanding debt of loans increased by 12% compared to the early year and increased by 23% from the similar period last year.

Foreign affairs and investment promotion

- Foreign affairs:

+ ODA projects: continue speeding up the implementation progress and reimbursement of ODA projects on schedule.

+ FDI projects: In nine months of the year, the province granted certificate of investment to two projects, including the project building bonded warehouse and oil pineline from Hon La port to Khammouane province with total investment of US$1 million; and the project manufacturing and trading electronic goods with total investment of VND 4.9 billion funded by the DOS REIS finanical organization (France).

+ NGO projects: In nine months, the province received 10 projects with total investment of US$1,657,000, including three projects in social affairs, three projects in education and training, two projects in judiciary support and two projects in other fields.

- Investment promotion: In the third quarter of the year, the province successfully organized an investment promotion and tourism conference. At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee granted certificate of investment to nine projects with total capital of nearly VND 900 billion, signed investment agreements with nine projects, worth VND 15,000 billion. Of which, the trade center project funded by Vingroup has a total investment of VND 800 billion; the Bao Ninh, Hai Ninh golf course project funded by the An Viet Investment and Infrastructure Development Joint-stock Company has a total investment of VND 750 billion; the Quang Dong ecological tourism project funded by Truong Thinh Company has a total investment of VND 500 billion. BIDV also inked a capital agreement for four projects with a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion.

Business registration

Generally, in nine months of this year, the province had 420 enterprises registered for new establishment with a total registered capital of VND 1,792.7 billion, increased by 31.5% from the same period last year. The number of enterprises revoked certificate of business registeration was 42 ones.

People’s life and social security: In nine months of the year, the province speeded up poverty alleviation program, focused on vocational training for labor export. In nine months, the province had 24,016 laborers provided with employment and 1,502 laborers worked abroad.

Traffic accidents

Generally, in nine months, the province had 179 cases of traffic accidents, killing 84 persons, injuring 176 persons. In comparison with the same period last year, cases of the traffic accidents in nine months of this year reduced by 52 cases, the number of deaths reduced by 9 persons and the number of injured persons reduced by 35 ones. Of which, the roadway happened 171 cases of traffic accidents and the railway happened 8 cases.
