A strategic military transportation road
In the book "A Trail through Truong Son", Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen wrote: the victory of 559 Route once again affirmed that the policy to mechanize transportation routes of the Military Commission was totally appropriate.

Ho Chi Minh Trail, the Viet Nam people also opened a road called "Ho Chi Minh Road in the sea". From 1961 to 1975, the Ho Chi Minh Road in the sea organized 1,879 boats and ships to transport 152,576 tons of weapons, technical equipments and medicines supporting the South Viet Nam battlefield. |
