Apart from the strategic Truong Son Trail, a.k.a. Ho Chi Minh Trail, the Viet Nam people also opened a road called "Ho Chi Minh Road in the sea". From 1961 to 1975, the Ho Chi Minh Road in the sea organized 1,879 boats and ships to transport 152,576 tons of weapons, technical equipments and medicines supporting the South Viet Nam battlefield.
